Always one of my favorite songs to play live, the light touch and jazzy feel on this song about drifting from the conscious to the sub-conscious was obliterated by the all-out assault of the band which featured Fudge Keegan on guitar and Jeff Hill on drums.

Recorded by Jimmy Miller for "The Intuition Element" album in 1983, it was released in 1984.
We recorded an unreleased version at Downtown Recorders during the "Very Good At Love" sessions which also generated "Twilight Dreams", "Electric Wish", and "Friend". The version was too fast and didn't have the "feel". That was the band with Mike Quinn on drums, Carolyn Casey on bass, Chuck Chewning on guitar, Jim Surrette on guitar, Joe Vig on piano/vocals.
It was a very good band.

Here are the lyrics and more information as posted on the Usenet groups:

Wave Descends
I'm caught in the dark/you don't know what it's like
to feel that wave descend at night

Here in the darkin the web of your lightand i need you here to hold me tighthold me tight
for when that wave descends on meto push me to the other sidewhen that wave descends on mei got nothing nothing nothing to hidewhen that wave descends on meit's such a subtle glowto feelright herein the dark
well i drift off into a solitary thoughtthe major portion there to help me push backthe tidekeep it all together in this long and fateful nightwhen i love you i wish with all my mightall my might
when that wave descends on me
Driving around Sunday, August 24, 2003, 20years after the original release of this 11 songalbum produced by the great Jimmy Miller,it was a revelation to hear the great guitar workby Francis "Fudge" Keegan. Jimmy Miller -who worked with Eric Clapton on Blind Faith,Denny Laine in Ginger Baker's Air Force,Keith Richards & Mick Taylor of The RollingStones, John Lennon on the Rock & Roll Circus (Lennon being a totallyunderrated rhythm guitarist) told Fudge "You're in the upperthird of guitarists I've worked with...the lowerpart of the upper third, mind you, but still inthe upper third" Miller was absolutelycorrect - the late Fudge Keegan left us onDecember 2, 1989 - he had recorded aradio interview the night before and had theINTUITION ELEMENT in his pocket whenhe died.
The band was quite good - Todd Carneson the bass guitar, Jeff Hill on drums , withyours truly on keyboards and vocals - itwas a really strong band to have working withyou as we gigged around New England upto Portland Maine (home of Bebe Beull) -behind this important record which was released in France on New Rose.

Wave Descends continues the cosmic consciousness ramblings of the disc -a mixture of philosophy from Eckankar to The Kybalion, as initiated on my 2nd EP AUGUSTE PHENOMENON.

AugusteWinds from the album continues theline of thought from that band whichemerged from the mid to late 1970's --- Auguste -inspiring reverence, mingled with admirationmajestic...venerable From latin - Augustus www.varulven.com
